Tabitha, your answer for Elder Care, and The Landing at Williamsburg Village, an Immanuel Community, are proud to announce the start of a collaborative building project on The Landing’s south Lincoln campus.
The two organizations hosted a groundbreaking ceremony on May 15 to kick off construction of the community, an innovative and visionary skilled nursing and long-term care residence for Lincoln’s most discerning seniors. The celebration included remarks from Lincoln Mayor Chris Beutler, who presented a proclamation to commemorate the day, as well as a celebration dance, the Harlem Shake, performed by The Landing residents and groundbreaking attendees.
The innovative community features 15 private suites—two built for couples—along with many shared indoor and outdoor living spaces where residents are encouraged to interact, form relationships and live their daily lives in an environment that’s just like home. The collaboration brings together Tabitha’s historic, award-winning nursing care with Immanuel’s excellence in living community design and support. The project is further complemented by the two organizations’ common focus on Christian-centered, compassionate care.
“Tabitha is thrilled and honored to once again help lead the way in offering this residential, community-oriented lifestyle to our city’s seniors and their families,” said Christie Hinrichs, Tabitha president and CEO. “Working with The Landing and Immanuel to make this bold vision a reality demonstrates the power of collaboration and, ultimately, a priority to continually serve residents through the Christian mission that each of our organizations holds close.”
The building project, slated to open to residents in early 2014, is just the latest in an ongoing and growing collaboration between Tabitha and The Landing.
“Tabitha has always been a leader and an innovator in health care for seniors,” said Eric Gurley, Immanuel president. “It only makes sense that Lincoln’s finest living communities, like The Landing, would want to take advantage of the experience and professionalism and vision Tabitha has to offer. We’re excited for this collaboration and look forward to a long and prosperous relationship with Tabitha for the benefit of Nebraska’s seniors.”
