Tabitha, your answer for Elder Care, is pleased to recognize and recap its 2012 Leaders of the Quarter. Tabitha distinguishes a leader during each quarter who personifies the organization’s mission and vision of providing compassionate care for Elders. Recipients are selected in connection with Tabitha’s award-winning LIVE2Succeed corporate culture, which encourages team members to love their jobs, invite optimism, vision success and embrace the mission.

2012 honorees were:

Q1: Angie Cardwell, RN, APRN, director of medical services, received recognition for her continued commitment to Tabitha’s LIVE2Succeed culture. Cardwell manages and cares for employees and their families at Tabitha’s employee health clinic, located on the organization’s main campus in Lincoln. For more than 20 years, Tabitha has provided this free health clinic to employees and their families. Additionally, Cardwell oversees Tabitha’s employee wellness program, designed to encourage team members to improve their personal and professional lives through healthier lifestyles. 

Q2: Tiffany Butcher serves as director of Tabitha’s Adult Day program and was recognized for her leadership and compassion toward team members and clients. Tabitha Adult Day is a daytime home away from home for clients. The program has achieved impressive results by creating positive, inclusive activities that enrich older adults and support individuals with memory loss. 

Q3: Jennifer Knecht, director of marketing, heads Tabitha’s marketing and public relations efforts across the 28 southeast Nebraska counties Tabitha serves. Most recently, she proved instrumental in the re-branding of Tabitha’s corporate image, the launch of Tabitha’s quarterly magazine, The Answer, the inception of a weekly radio program on KFOR 1240 AM, the redesign of Tabitha’s corporate website and interactive strategy, and many other marketing efforts reaching throughout Tabitha’s service area.

Q4: Anne Ferguson, administrator, Tabitha Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, received recognition based on her overall character and commitment to Tabitha’s largest living option, a 215-bed Elder community providing skilled nursing and long-term care. Ferguson’s leadership displays a phenomenal quality of character and focus on the employees she leads daily.

Tabitha, your answer for Elder Care, is pleased to announce the promotion of Sarah Friedman to director of finance. In her new role Friedman will supervise Tabitha’s accounting office, and manage and prepare financial statements, budgets and forecasts for all the Elder living communities and service lines Tabitha operates and manages throughout southeast Nebraska.

Friedman joined Tabitha in 2007 as a financial coordinator. She was promoted to lead accountant in 2009 and then to patient accounts manager in 2010. Friedman attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in finance. Recently she has enrolled at Bellevue University to pursue an MBA with emphasis in accounting.

“Sarah has continuously proven her dedication to her work and to Tabitha, and she is most deserving of this promotion” said Dave Jackson, Tabitha’s chief financial officer.

“I do love my job and the opportunity to serve at Tabitha,” Friedman said. “I’m excited about this new chapter within a great organization.”
