  • First Green House in Nebraska
    In September 2005, Tabitha broke ground on the Green House ProjectTM at Tabitha which provides long-term care in small, neighborhood homes.

  • New Rehabilitation Technology Introduced
    Tabitha celebrated the Grand Opening of Tabitha LifeQuest Center in 2004, introducing the Ferno Pool and underwater bike and treadmill technology to Lincoln.

  • First Eden Alternative™ Facility in Lincoln
    Tabitha Nursing & Rehabilitation Center became Lincoln's first and only Eden AlternativeTM facility in 2002, continuing the journey to enhance the quality of life for those in Elder care communities.

  • Unique Intergenerational Care Introduced to Lincoln
    Tabitha Intergenerational Center opened in 2001 to care for children in its Developmental Play School and for adults in Adult Day Services and continues to be one of only six facilities of its kind in the world.

  • First Specialized Care Unit in Lincoln for People With Alzheimer's/Dementia
    Tabitha Nursing & Rehabilitation Center expanded in 1999 to house The Kimmel Solarium at Tabitha which provides specialized, compassionate care for people with Alzheimer's and/or dementia.

  • First to Provide Hospice Care; Longest Serving Hospice Provider
    Tabitha became the first provider in Lincoln to offer Medicare certified Hospice Care in 1979. Recognized by the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization as Nebraska's Longest Operating Hospice.

  • First to Provide Meals on Wheels
    In 1967, Tabitha became the first and only provider in Lincoln to offer hot, home-delivered Meals on Wheels to help people remain in their homes.

  • First to Provide Home Care
    Tabitha became the first Nebraska Provider to offer Medicare certified Home Health Care in 1966.

Our Recent Awards

  • 2006 Celebration of Labor Industry Tour
    Nebraska’s Governor Dave Heineman honored Tabitha at the 2006 Celebration of Labor Industry Tour on September 14th at the State Capitol. The award recognized Tabitha’s commitment and achievements in promoting career development and skills training for young people. The Celebration of Labor Industry Tour is an annual event that honors employers for “best practices” that benefit Nebraska workers.
  • RSVP "Living Bell" Award
    In 2004, the Lincoln Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) volunteers voted Tabitha "a wonderful and worthwhile place to volunteer."
  • Second Wind "Dream of the Year" Award
    Second Wind Dreams recognized Tabitha in 2004 for its commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those in Elder care communities.
  • YWCA "Gladys Forsythe" Award
    Tabitha excels in creating opportunities for women and people of color and was recognized by the YWCA in Lincoln for this important effort in 2003.
