I had the unexpected pleasure of starting my social work career in hospice care. It was never planned that way - during school I had ambitions to work with kids, but there was a different path in mind for me and I began working for Tabitha--fresh out of college with no idea how this organization would change my life.
The families that I worked with as a social worker of Tabitha Hospice inspired my life in more ways than I can say. Hospice care is often mis-understood. People see it as “giving-up.” They don’t realize the benefits of working with a health care team who specializes in end-of-life care and can be there not only through the health care ups and downs but the emotional and spiritual aspects as well.
Here are three of my favorite stories, graciously shared from real family members, that outline how hospice care makes a difference. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7e5_EO257lE
