Tabitha was founded in 1886 by Rev. Henry Heiner. It's mission was that of service to those in need in our community.
Tabitha introduces a mobile food program to the community. Today, Tabitha Meals on Wheels remains the only program of it's kind in the Lincoln area and utilizes over 800 volunteers to deliver hot, nutritious meals each month.
Tabitha was the first Medicare-certified hospice care provider in Nebraska. Volunteers offer hospice clients and their families support, respite and companionship.
In 2015, Tabitha celebrated it's four millionth meal delivered through Tabitha Meals on Wheels.
Tabitha’s services and care options continue to grow as the first and most experienced continuum of Elder Care in the state. Tabitha couldn't continue to serve without the generosity of volunteers.
Some people think that starting the aging journey means life is over. I found out it’s only the beginning!
