- Lakeview Care Center Hosts ‘Soup-er Bowl’ Luncheon
Warm yourself head to toe with a hearty lunch at Lakeview! Lakeview Care Center will host a community-wide “Soup-er Bowl” luncheon on Friday, Feb. 3, from 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Lakeview is located at 404 E. 8th Street in Firth.
Cozy up with a steaming bowl of chili or potato soup, cinnamon rolls and all the fixings. Visit with friends, talk football and see all the new changes happening at Lakeview. Enjoy lunch on us or give a goodwill donation—whatever inspires you! No reservation is required.

- Lakeview Care Center in Firth Offers Free Osteoporosis Workshop & Screening
Ten million Americans are estimated to have osteoporosis and women are eight times more likely than men to have the disease. Prevention is the most effective weapon against osteoporosis.
Lakeview Care Center—a Tabitha Living Commmunity—will present a free workshop and screening, Osteoporosis: Are You At Risk?, Thursday, May 26, 10:00 a.m., 404 E 8th, Firth.
This event is recommended for adults aged 50 and older. Lakeview will provide refreshments and tours of the living community, showcasing new private rooms and the newly renovated chapel. Due to limited seating, registration is required. For more information or to register, please call (402) 791-5588 by Monday, May 23.
Osteoporosis: Are You At Risk? is led by Tabitha physical therapist Audrey Cassel. Cassel will address risk factors, bone development and nutrition, drug options, correct body mechanics to prevent vertebral fractures and prevention of bone loss minimizing fracture risk. Following the presentation, Cassel will offer a free personal screening to determine your risk for osteoporosis.
This workshop is designed for older adults by the Centers for Disease Control. Cassel has over 30 years of experience in physical therapy and is a recent graduate of Creighton University as a Doctor of Physical Therapy. As part of her doctorate degree from Creighton, she implemented a community program about osteoporosis.

Lakeview Care Center Earns a Four Star Rating
Lakeview Care Center in Firth, Nebraska, has earned the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Four Star Rating. The Four Star Rating is a top rating for the Annual Nursing Home Report and is based on health inspection, quality measures, staffing and overall quality.
“A Four Star Rating is proof that hard work and dedication pays off. Lakeview Care Center is one of few facilities that have been able to achieve a Four Star status level,” said Kelsie Ryan, Administrator of Lakeview Care Center. “I would like to thank all of the staff for their hard work and dedication.”
Lakeview Care Center provides comfortable living and compassionate care to Firth and surrounding communities through rehabilitation, respite care and long-term placement.
Lakeview Board Chair, Jerry Prange, said it is an honor to receive the rating. “This rating demonstrates our commitment to quality care provided to the residents and families by our dedicated team and through our partnership Tabitha.”

Firth’s Lakeview Care Center Signs Management Agreement With Tabitha Health Care Services
Tabitha Health Care Services is proud to announce the recent agreement to manage Lakeview Care Center in Firth, Nebraska, effective August 1, 2010. Tabitha assumes management responsibilities from the Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society.
Lakeview Care Center is a 57-bed facility, located at 404 East 8th Street, providing the highest quality skilled nursing care in a warm, hometown setting overlooking a nearby lake. The campus also includes a duplex and retirement apartments for independent living.
Guided by its mission of providing compassionate care for older adults in rural and urban areas, Tabitha successfully owns and operates facilities in Lincoln and Crete and manages three facilities in Hebron.
“Tabitha’s established reputation for health care excellence and long-standing experience in serving older adults in southeast Nebraska will serve as the foundation for a seamless transition from the Good Samaritan Society for both staff and clients,” said Christie Hinrichs, interim CEO & President, Tabitha Health Care Services. “We are looking forward to find ways to best serve the Firth community.”
