More than 50 percent of those Tabitha serve, have outlived their financial resources and cannot afford the cost of their care. Government-run reimbursement programs only cover a small portion of this cost. This is a critical community issue and Tabitha’s goal is to say ‘yes’ to those in need, providing exceptional service and care to our friends and neighbors in greatest need. We can only do this through dedicated and generous community supporters.
Tabitha Foundation is a non-profit, 501(c) 3 organization, gifts are Tax Deductible, Federal ID #47-0636199.

Catherine came to Tabitha for skilled nursing care two years after her husband lost an almost decade-long battle with cancer. Their life savings spent on his treatment, Catherine knew her resources wouldn’t last long, and she was afraid for the future.
Thanks to the generosity of many faithful contributors, Tabitha could continue providing for Catherine’s needs, even when her money ran out. She received the same quality, compassionate care as her journey led her through palliative care, hospice care and finally when she passed away more than nine months later. Tabitha could say yes because our donors made it possible.
Lydia Wetzel of Benedict, Neb., turned to Tabitha Hospice for help. At 57 years old, she was suffering from late stage cancer, had met with her doctor and her family, and knew the time was right for hospice care. But with no insurance, piles of medical bills and a recent denial from the government for supplemental security income, Lydia didn’t know how she would pay for the care that could help not only herself, but her family cope with the final stage of her life. Before the cancer, Lydia loved playing the piano and taught others to love it, too. She spent her time giving back as a Christian school teacher and donating her time and much-appreciated baked goods to her local church.
The caregivers at Tabitha Hospice heard Lydia’s story and knew they could help. Turning to the Tabitha Foundation, Lydia was able to receive nursing visits, medication and equipment because of the generous donations others made to Tabitha Hospice. Because of these donors, Lydia was able to spend the final days of her life lovingly supported by the compassionate care of Tabitha Hospice. At Tabitha, we continue to serve older adults, not because it’s the profitable thing to do, but because it’s the right thing to do. But care to those in need could not be possible without the support of our generous donors.
“My parents and pastors have had a huge influence on my life. They set the example of how one should recognize, suipport and use his or her God-given talents.”
Donations to the Tabitha Foundation help us provide loving support that is otherwise unaffordable to many Elders. For those we serve who are struggling financially, government-run reimbursement programs and their individual resources are not enough to cover the cost of care. Donations help to make up part of that shortfall.
At Tabitha, we are proud to be in service to a mission. When clients and families come to us in need of a daily meal, support at home or skilled nursing care, we won’t say no, we’ll say yes.
Every gift we receive makes a life-changing (and sometimes life-saving) difference to those we are privileged to serve. Each of us has the opportunity to make a difference. Will you?
