Support comes in many forms from Tabitha Hospice. Our team of professionals serves you and your family when cure is no longer possible. We offer compassionate care, comfort and support and expertise in pain and symptom management. Tabitha has supported many Nebraskans with Hospice care since it introduced services in 1979. Each person is unique, with their own set of circumstances and desires for care. We place value, honor and respect on your wishes. Dignity, physical, emotional and spiritual support are key components of our care.

Services Provided by Tabitha Hospice

  • Medical Care - Your personal physician directs Hospice care. Tabitha's Medical Director is a trained educator in palliative and end-of-life care, and is available for consultation.
  • Nursing Care - Registered Nurses visit patients and families, provide care, support and coordination of services such as medications, medical equipment and supplies. Tabitha nurses are specially trained in pain control and symptom management. They are on call around the clock.
  • Home Health Aide Care and Homemaker Services - Tabitha home care aides and homemakers provide personal care and light housekeeping tasks when needed.
  • Counseling Services - Spiritual support is available from your clergy, volunteer clergy or the Hospice Pastor. Social Workers, pharmacist and nutritionist are also available.
  • Volunteer Services - Volunteers offer a special kind of care, support and friendship to patients and families. Volunteers run errands, relieve caregivers or offer friendly visits with patients or families.
  • Bereavement Services - Our Hospice team provides counseling and support to families for eighteen months following the death of a loved one. Services include mailings, support groups and individual support.
  • Community Outreach -Tabitha works in cooperation with community agencies to offer a one-day grief camp for kids and their families. You can obtain information about HUGS (Helping US Grieve Successffully) at www.hugscamp.org.
