Katharine’s Story

Katharine moved with her husband, Peter, to Tabitha Village more than a decade ago. The couple made friends, participated in activities and—most importantly—remained happy and independent in the tight-knit community.

When Peter rehabilitated from an injury at Tabitha Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Katharine made daily walks across the street to spend time with her husband but never giving up the comforts of home.

Even through hospice care and after Peter’s death, Katharine kept close ties with her friends at the Village, where she still lives today.

Marvin’s Story

Marvin learned early on in his aging journey that the secret to staying young is staying active. That’s why he’s opted to get involved in nearly every coffee club, Bible study and community outing offered at the Village.

His wife, Trixie, said the couple knew it was time to consider a move when Marvin started having health issues that interfered with his ability to care for their house and large yard.

Today they especially enjoy the Village's neighborhood dinners and movie nights, and they even drive the resident van on a weekly grocery run.
