Tabitha Grief Groups and Hospice Volunteer Training - April 2019

MAIN REGION (LINCOLN, NE AND LANCASTER COUNTY)

Grief and support groups are open to anyone in the community experiencing loss or needing support. Please call 402.486.8506 for confirmation of dates.

  • “Loss of a Loved One Drop-in Grief Group,” held every Monday, 10-11:30 a.m., at the Front Porch Coffee Shop, 5925 Adams St.

  • “Loss of a Loved One Drop-in Grief Group,” held every Wednesday, 1:30-3 p.m., at The Harbor Coffeehouse, 1265 S. Cotner Blvd.

  • “Men’s Drop-in Grief Group,” held every other Friday, April 12 and 26, 1:30-3 p.m., at Hy-Vee deli, 7151 Stacy Ln.

  • Growing through Grief” six-week support group, Wednesdays, Apr. 3 – May 8 10-11:30 a.m., at Tabitha, 4720 Randolph St. For questions, please contact Pastor Ray Boeche, Tabitha Hospice bereavement coordinator, at 402.486.8546.

Tabitha invites you to join the Tabitha Hospice team for a Remembrance Service to celebrate the life of your loved one and share in the support of our community. This service will include a special tribute to fallen Veterans and their families. Join Tabitha and University of Nebraska—Lincoln for a special Avoiding the Brain Strain Memory Workshop built to equip you with the educational resources and tools to help keep your brain stronger, longer. This eight-week group will be held Wednesdays, June 12 - July 31, 10 - 11:30 a.m. at 203A Barkley Memorial Center, East Campus University of Nebraska—Lincoln, 4075 East Campus Loop South. The workshop focuses on learning about and developing strategies to improve independence and safety with daily functional skills and activities. Significant others, friends or family members are encouraged to attend with participants to learn how to assist with the daily challenges of memory impairment and engage in group discussions. Cost to attend is $80 (for participant and guest).   • “Loss of a Loved One Drop-in Grief Group,” will be held every other Tuesday, April 2, 16 and 30, 1-2 p.m., at Café Metro, 901 Central Ave., Auburn.
  • Growing Through Grief” six-week grief support group, will be held Tuesday afternoons, Apr. 9 - May 14, 4 - 5:30 p.m., at Tabitha, 1114 Grundman Blvd., Nebraska City.

Tabitha invites you to join Tabitha Hospice and York General Hospital for a Caregiver Support Group built to equip you with the educational resources and tools to help make caregiving easier. This new eight-week group will be held Wednesdays, April 3 - May 22, 2 - 3:30 p.m. at York General Hospital, Lower Level Conference Room, 2222 N. Lincoln Ave. A variety of topics will be covered including nutrition and wellness, financial planning and end-of-life planning. Free to attend with light refreshments provided. Seats are limited; RSVP to Tabitha Hoffman, hospice bereavement coordinator, at 402.362.7739.
