Tabitha Promotes Shanks to President & CEO

Tabitha, Nebraska’s industry-leading Senior Care provider has tapped a new leader. Tabitha’s Board of Directors selected Lincoln native, Brian P. Shanks to fill the role of President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

For the past four years, Shanks has served as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of nonprofit Tabitha. He will succeed Tabitha’s Interim President and CEO, Joyce Ebmeier on Jan. 1, 2024 as she retires.

Shanks brings over 30 years of extensive experience in finance, including the areas of real estate and investments. He has established strong standardized policies, procedures, data metrics and reporting. Most recently, Shanks played a major role in the construction and implementation of two major living communities—Tabitha at Prairie Commons in Grand Island and S²age InterGenerational Living in Lincoln—as well as the implementation of a hospice and home health care joint venture with Immanuel in Omaha and overall guiding Tabitha through the challenging COVID-19 pandemic.

“Tabitha’s Board of Directors is pleased to welcome Brian to lead this long-standing organization," shared Mark Hesser, Chairman of Tabitha's Board of Directors and President & CEO of Pinnacle Bancorp, Inc. "He has an impressive background with strong governance, strategic planning and operational skills. Instrumental in Tabitha’s growth, Brian has identified revenue drivers to further build Tabitha’s financial health. His expertise will guide us to attain our financial goals and continue Tabitha’s legacy of delivering exceptional quality Care to seniors and their families. He has proven to be a great culture fit and we are grateful to have his talents at Tabitha.”

Aimee Baumann, who has served as Tabitha’s Director of Finance will succeed Shanks as Tabitha’s Interim CFO. Baumann will join Shanks and Katie Lechner, Chief Operating Officer, on the Executive Team.
