Courage: A Word from Christie
Tabitha Friends,
COURAGE, that’s what it takes to ensure nonprofit Tabitha evolves to meet the needs of older adults. COURAGE to move forward with innovative programs even though government reimbursement does not begin to cover the full cost of care for Tabitha programs already in place. One of the most important things we do is enCOURAGE you to think about what’s next in terms of your Senior Care needs and give you the support to put them into action.
Age creeps up on us, days turn into years and the majority get stuck not knowing where to turn. Rather than determining how you’ll live out your years, you’re forced, in an emergency, to make decisions that are more costly and not in your best interest. That’s a scary proposition, especially for Nebraskans who are notoriously known for their steadfast independence. Not asking for help or avoiding it altogether only compounds the situation.
Like any life event—a birth, graduation, new job, marriage, big move—aging gracefully takes effort. Many believe there should be required classes on parenting; the same holds true for planning our Senior years. A great rule of thumb is to plan out your future at the same time you’re helping an older loved one plan theirs. This side-by-side approach will leave you feeling less anxious, give you great perspective and empower you to carve out time to contemplate your Senior years too.
When you’re unsure where to turn, START WITH TABITHA. We’ll provide you with free expert advice. Contemplating your Senior years takes COURAGE but in the planning comes peace of mind that you’ll live out life on your own terms.
