Tabitha Dementia and Alzheimer's Care
Seniors with Alzheimer's disease or other types of dementia have a wide range of abilities, and their needs change as their condition progresses. High-functioning adults may need only minimal support, while severely impacted individuals may require around-the-clock care.
Tabitha addresses these diverse needs with a broad range of memory care services within the Tabitha Elder Care Continuum. Our unified resource base and continuum navigation continuity make it easier to adjust to each person’s changing needs.
The answer for Elder Care in the state, Tabitha has been instrumental in raising awareness and providing resources for individuals and families experiencing memory loss. In 2014, Tabitha hosted a public dementia panel form for community members to receive answers about the differences between Alzheimer's and dementia, caring for loved ones with memory loss, what professional services are available for dementia, legal concerns and much more.
In 2015, Tabitha, in collaboration with LeadingAge Nebraska, brought an exclusive premiere of the incredible documentary, Glen Campbell: I'll Be Me to Lincoln for an exclusive showing. The movie chronicles the legendary singer's life with Alzheimer's and his farewell tour.
When Darlene’s memory loss began to slip beyond the normal signs of aging, her daughter, Jessica, called Tabitha to help Darlene at home with meals and housekeeping. As Darlene’s condition progressed and it was no longer safe for her to live alone, she moved in with her daughter, and Jessica chose Tabitha Adult Day services during the week while she was at work. Darlene loved the activities, meals and companionship.
Recently Darlene moved to GracePointe Memory Care Suites. The staff helps her with medications, nutrition and hygiene. She is happy, safe and enjoying her life. Jessica knows that as her mom’s needs change, Tabitha is there for her and her family. If Darlene ever needs therapy or skilled nursing, Jessica knows she can rely on Tabitha. And when the time comes for a higher level of care, Tabitha will guide them through that journey.
Working with her Tabitha continuum navigator and her nephew, Harlan, Emma discovered the compassionate care and pleasant, peaceful surroundings she needed as she faced the challenges of memory decline.
"We’re so thankful GracePointe was an option for Aunt Emma,” Harlan said. “The staff keep me informed, which I greatly appreciate. Aunt Emma is happy here; she's surrounded by so much love and compassion. It's the next best thing to home.”
