Subaru Share the Love Event Fuels Tabitha Meals on Wheels

Tabitha Meals on Wheels—meal delivery and safety check program for older adults in Lincoln—is grateful to, once again, participate in Subaru’s annual Share the Love® Event.

Local Lincoln dealership, DuTeau Subaru, is pairing up with Tabitha Meals on Wheels. For every vehicle purchased or leased from DuTeau Subaru over the period of Nov. 16, 2023 to Jan. 2, 2023, Subaru of America will donate $250 to the customer’s choice of participating nationwide charities.

When Nebraska buyers select Meals on Wheels America as the recipient of their gift, nonprofit Tabitha Meals on Wheels receives the donation as a locally chosen “Hometown Charity.” To imagine your impact, one donation will provide over 30 meals to a program recipient.

“Tabitha Meals on Wheels has had the privilege of Collaborating with DuTeau and Subaru for years now, which is a partnership we value deeply,” said JP Lauterbach, Director of Tabitha’s Foundation. “Providing independence, security and a friendly, frequent interaction to older neighbors is crucial to our recipients’ livelihood and overall well-being. Subaru’s generous gifts ensure that we can keep our wheels rolling for years to come, and for that we couldn’t be more grateful.”

Subaru Share the Love® Event

Since 1967, Tabitha Meals on Wheels and its Committed Volunteers have delivered nutrition, safety checks and independence to older neighbors. This lifeline program depends on generous community contributions and the support of events like Subaru Share the Love to continue covering meal costs for 81% of recipients that cannot afford the full price.

Since Subaru’s Share the Love campaign kicked off in 2008, the program has raised over $285 million for organizations like American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), Make-a-Wish, National Park Foundation and Meals on Wheels America. Their contributions to Meals on Wheels America alone have funded over 4.3 million meals throughout America.

“Each year, our Subaru community comes together for the Subaru Share the Love Event, collectively supporting causes that make an incredible impact on both a national and local scale. This event is at the heart of what makes us More Than a Car Company,” said Jeff Walters, President and Chief Operating Officer, Subaru of America, Inc. “Our customers inspire us, and we are excited to offer them another chance to give back to the causes that are closest to their hearts heading into this holiday season.”

This campaign is just one of many ways you can give back to older adults in your community during the holidays this year. Give meals directly at Tabitha.org/Give, or learn more and spread the word about Subaru Share the Love by visiting Tabitha.org/ShareTheLove.
